Draft notes of the extraordinary meeting of Minting and Gautby Parish Council held on the 3rd of March 2026 at Minting Village Hall at 7.00pm. To be confirmed at the next meeting.
Present:- Cllrs. E.B.Clark [EC] chairman and acting clerk, H.Padfield [ HP], J.Padfield [JP], J.Stuchfield [JSt], W.Hughes [WH], L.Bury [LB], A.Cadman [AC] and J.Saville [J Sa].
7.00 Public forum.
No members of the public were present.
7.05 Formal council meeting.
[1] Chairman’s welcome and apologies for absence.
There were no apologies.
[2] Declaration of interests.
There were none.
[3] To confirm, or amend, and sign the draft notes of the meeting of the 20th of January 2026.
JSt proposed adoption , seconded by AC and resolved.
[4] Planning matters.
Cllrs. discussed planning application 00210/26/PIP – being for Permission in Principle for the proposed erection of two dwellings on land adjoining ‘ Terrand’ on Silver St, Minting.
No outright objections were voiced to the erection of two dwellings, however, the plans appeared to show the development in such a position as to block a well-used footpath, which was felt to be unacceptable. Also, a public notice of the application did not appear to have been posted near the proposed site.
EC agreed to submit the council’s response, that being a neutral stance on the erection of two dwellings, but to object to the blocking of the footpath. This could be resolved by moving the site a small distance north along Silver St. JSa proposed, seconded by WH, and resolved.
With no further business, the meeting closed at 7.20pm.
